Latham Park 30 Second Video

For class, I was assigned to record still video at Latham Park, Elon’s baseball field. I recorded footage of a variety of parts of the baseball field without moving the camera during the actual recording. Fortunately, I filmed at a time that some baseball players were doing batting practice a few hours before their game, which gave me the opportunity to film some interesting shots.

COM 220 Product Labels

For this part of the assignment, I had to create product labels for a 20 oz bottle and for a product of my choice. I created a label for a 20 oz energy drink bottle and for “Fight Milk,” a product from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

COM 220 Magazine Covers

For class, we had to create two magazine covers. One using one of our own pictures (left) the other using pictures from the Internet (right). I chose to make my own magazine along with using my own picture, and struggled a bit to create a magazine I felt fit professional standards. However, I found it easier to use Sports Illustrated as a template to create a magazine, and enjoyed that process much more.

Event: COM 220 Photography Project

For my COM 220: Creating Multimedia Content class, I had to take different pictures of an event. I chose to take pictures of the Elon Women’s Lacrosse game vs. #9 Notre Dame. I was able to stand by the fence and take pictures of their pre-game warmups to get some shots of players in action. I was also able to get a wide shot of the field before the game, and pictures of Notre Dame players’ equipment at the end of the game. While the Phoenix lost 16-7, it was a fun experience to take pictures of the game.

Portraits: COM 220 Photography Project

For my COM 220: Creating Multimedia Content class, I had to take staged and candid shots of different people. I chose to take candids during a filming of One on One Sports, and separately took staged pictures of a few of my friends. It was fun taking candid pictures and seeing what I could capture without any kind of planning of what the final product might be.

Objects and a Place: COM 220 Photography Project

For my COM 220: Creating Multimedia Content class, I had to take pictures of three objects and seven pictures of a place, with varying angles and types of shots. The three objects I chose were a deck of Supergirl playing cards (because I enjoy card games and superheroes), a Connor McDavid Funko figure (because I’m a huge hockey fan and he’s a talented young player), and a pair of Rayban sunglasses (because I love the summer time). The place I chose was the Oaks building on campus, where I took pictures inside and outside the surrounding area. In this project, I utilized different techniques such as shallow depth of field, emphasis, unity, and perception.
